| The cold and harsh world of Mad Forest was inspired by the world which Ceausescu created for his people in Romania during his rule: tilted concrete and exposed steel from the churches and buildings he demolished, and a palette of grays, except for the occasional splashes of color, which are those of the Romanian flag. A collage of overlapping screens acts as a backdrop and projection surface where the stories of horror and devastation are brought to visual light, and where the eye of Ceausescu at times will very slowly fade in, letting you know you are being watched at all times. |
